As CEO, my major responsibility is to ensure our clients receive a consistently high quality and market leading service. Many of our clients are long standing so it is essential that in return for their trust, we take control and leverage our expertise to their advantage.

Given the complexity of the financial environment, I believe that only by empowering our consultants to challenge the norm can an optimal solution be found. My extensive knowledge of financial sponsor transactions means I know exactly what investors require and the responsiveness and detail they demand.

In my spare time I play golf regularly and enjoy playing football, albeit I have been recently dropped to a sideline role.

I joined PMC as CFO having used the company’s services in previous finance roles.  Having had a wide range of experience over 18 years, firstly as an advisor in a transaction environment and more recently in fast-growing private-equity backed Corporates.

I appreciate the differing perspectives and wealth of experience that the team here at PMC can bring to high pressure situations, and the value (both in financial terms and independent advice in complex situations) that that can deliver.

As CFO, my role involves reviewing business strategy, and managing a number of key business functions and processes – my focus through all of these is to ensure our client teams have all they need to operate effectively.

Appointed Chairman following Inflexion’s investment in PMC in October 2018. I have extensive experience in the Private Equity industry and have been chairman and NED of a number of private equity backed businesses.

I have worked with PMC for over 20 years and believe that its independent advice can add real value in the often-neglected area of treasury operations.

Appropriate strategies for cash, foreign exchange and interest rate risk management can make a real difference to a company’s financial performance and risk management. The team at PMC has advised corporates, infrastructure funds, and private equity backed companies over a long time, and is the natural port of call for treasury related services.

My Experience

1996–2009

Partner at Cinven involved in numerous successful transactions in a variety of industry sectors.

1992–1996

Deputy Managing Director at Gresham Trust (small cap private equity business).

While the world in which PMC operates has changed enormously over the last 30 years, the principles upon which the company was founded have not varied and would be – indeed still are – recognised by PMC’s first clients. Independence, integrity and impartiality are the source of PMC ‘s success and while the individual business challenges (technological, regulatory, economic, legal, etc.) have changed over time these values remain uncorrupted and are in large part the reason for the company’s longevity. As founder and Honorary President of PMC my continued association with the company reflects its commitment to its original principles and is a source of personal pride to me.

My role at PMC is to provide clients with a complete financial risk management service; starting with identifying and understanding the market risk, devising efficient hedging strategies, right through to cost-effective execution and post trade support.

I have spent over a decade in bank trading rooms. I believe it is only when there is a deep understanding of both counterparties’ requirements that a successful outcome can be achieved.
