Cash Management & Banking

The efficient management of banking and cash is vital in all companies. Cash is an important asset and borrowing and other types of bank facilities can be essential but expensive resources. The structure and organisation of reporting and procedures will influence how effectively cash and banking is managed.

The cash management & banking areas that PMC can assist with include:

  • Currency cash flow forecasting,
  • Liquidity reporting,
  • Control and organisation of bank accounts,
  • Cash pooling / concentration,
  • Procedures for intercompany funding,
  • Efficient management of existing credit facilities, letters of credit and bank guarantees, plus the pro-active management of bank charges.

Example –

A German client, with operations in numerous countries, contacted us about concerns the company had with the lack of visibility of the cash and debt position in each of its operating companies. Working with the finance team we were able to set up regular bank balance reporting and define and implement a weekly rolling six month currency cash flow forecast for the key companies. Amongst the benefits arising from these new arrangements were the more regular repatriation of cash from some of the foreign operating companies and the more efficient use of the revolving credit line.
