Jon Scott
Treasurers today are faced with an increasingly broad and complex range of challenges in fulfilling their roles. These challenges are compounded where new treasury operations are being created such as during Private Equity transactions. Possessing the appropriate experience and knowledge is critical to ensure these treasury operations are properly defined and established.
In my experience, treasury responsibilities now go far beyond fundamental management of cash and bank relationships and hedging financial exposures. Treasurers are being asked to integrate their operations much more closely with the underlying business and to become advocates and consultants in treasury matters entity-wide.
These demands increase the need for strong infrastructure in treasury departments which must be balanced against resource constraints and pressures to do more with less.
PMC’s ability in understanding clients’ treasury needs puts us in a unique position to be able create new treasury operations and support already established organisations.
My experience in establishing, running and advising treasury functions enables me to support companies in developing this critical capability which in turn allows the department to fulfil its responsibilities and add value to the organisation. I derive great satisfaction from being able to contribute to the value brought by treasuries in this challenging environment.
